waterways | Canoeing in the Hudson River at the Stockport Creek

Another memorable canoe outing in the waterways of the Hudson River at the Stockport Creek, led by Fran Martino, canoes courtesu of the DEC Hudson River Estuary Program. An educational tour while enjoying the less obvious vista of the meeting between the Hudson and the Stockport Creek, meandering through man-made infrastructure and natural habitat, within small islands and wetlands.

Waterways | The Stockport Creek

A memorable outing through the Stockport Creek Watershed area, led by Fran Martino. The canoes were courtesy of the DEC DEC Hudson River Estuary Program. The tour was both educational and fun and  made us aware of remarkable nature (and manmade) features, visible only by water. We learned about the natural habitat of this watershed (the second estuary of the Hudson river).
Grand finale of the tour: we rowed under the railway bridge and made to the majestic Hudson.
