Point Lobos | The Sound of Surrender

In the California State Park web site Point Lobos is described as "The greatest meeting of land and water in the world" quoting the artist Francis McComa.
The description is very appropriate for this place. I experience overwhelming smells and sights in one of the most blessed places on this planet, where eucaliptus and pine trees frames dramatic views of cliffs diving in the healing waters of the mighty Pacific. I am surrounded by the sound of crashing waves and pellicans while the barking of seals suddenly arise. The sun is setting, with the blinding reflection of its light. I have no other place to go, nothing else to see or hear while I slowly surrender to the ocean...

Chanel Art Pavilion at Central Park

An unusual construction, shaped as a toroid, can be seen in the Rumsey Playfield, Central Park. The art pavilion, called Mobile Art, was designed by the London based architect Zaha Hadid. The theme of the art exhbit is the legendary Chanel's bag. Visitors are asked to wear headphones and visit the exhibit following the instructions in the audio-tour, narrated by Jeanne Moreau.
The pavillion includes site specific commissions by the artists Nobuyoshi Araki (Japan), Blue Noses (Russia), Lee Bul (South Korea), Daniel Buren (France), Sophie Calle (France), Loris Cecchini (Italy), Wim Delvoye (Belgium), Leandro Erlich (Argentina), Sylvie Fleury (Switzerland), Yang Fudong (China), Subodh Gupta (India), Fabrice Hyber (France), Y.Z. Kami (Iran), David Levinthal (USA), Michael Lin (Taiwan), Yoko Ono (USA), Pierre & Gilles (France), Stephen Shore (USA), Tabaimo (Japan), and Soju Tao (Japan).

The exhibition will be opened to the public (free) from Oct. 20 to Nov. 9.
