camminando | Cold Walks

Central Park is still snow covered and temperatures still several degrees below freezing; it is one of the coldest NYC winters I have ever experienced. Walks are often painfully cold although the multi-layer clothing. Below are visual memories of the urban spaces encountered on February 10 and the white Central Park toured on February 11.

New York | Home, Sweet Home

The 76-foot tall Christmas Tree at the Rockefeller Center lit by 45,000 energy efficient LED lights

On Wednesday I finally made it back to my home in New York. My small Upper West Side apartment felt like a palace and the neighborhood was a comfortable, reassuring place; it is interesting how places change in our perceptions. Yesterday I walked again through my neighborhood and doing simple errands was like a treat: a visit to Apple Store and its "genius"  bar, shopping at Trader Joe's. I missed so much the crowded street, the density of this city as well as familiar places and comfort which I was not able to replace in my almost nine months.
Yesterday we drove by Fifth Avenue, as it was raining heavily. The Christmas decorations, bright lights brought reassurance to the difficult family situation I am currently facing; 2013 has been definitely a challenging year!

camminado NYC | October 6 from Sunrise to Sunset

My walking started with the sun rising on the Central Park lake

My walking day continued to Chelsea, passing by the Apple store, quite interesting and puzzling to see the "shrine" of candles, apples and sticky notes to Steve Jobs...

I arrived to Chelsea in time to see the sun setting behind the New Jersey skyline from the Hudson river.

My evening continued at the Chelsea Art Museum, opening "Black Zero" by the Italian artist Aldo Tambellini: a retrospective exhibition of paintings, sculpture, lumagrams, videograms, film, video, and television work (1960-1990).

On my way back another monochromatic enigmatic vernissage at the Art Gate Gallery, showing Peter Gregorio "The Many World Interpretations"
