More Tales from the Great Ocean Road: Torquay

As the warm weather is about to disappear for the third week in a row I paid my homage to the majestic Southern Ocean, which last Sunday was not roaring as usually. The almost absent surf lured me to finally immerse in the not too cold —at least in comparison with the Atlantic waters of the north-east coast— water of Torquay beach.

Witnessing and Recording the Sun Rising Again

As I begin feeling a little bit more settled and "oriented", yesterday (April 1) for the first time I witnessed and recorded the sun rising from below the equator. While I felt quite disoriented by the sun at the north during noon, I found instead quite reassured by sun still rising from the east. The sunrise was also accompanied by the strong smell emanating from the native eucalyptuses. I believe I am quite ready for the next challenge: reassuring for my next orientation session: star trails centered around the Southern Cross.
